Clay County Soccer Academy Program

U8 and U10 Academy Evaluations

2012-2013 Season Information

Clay County is proud to announce the formation of a U8 Academy program to support our already existing U10 Academy program.  We will be holding evaluation during the first week of June, this is not a tryout as players are not cut but just evaluated for placement within the Academy programs.  Players for the fall U8 Academy will be current U6 and U7 players.  The U10 Academy will be for our current U8 and U9 players.

The major focus of the ACADEMY is to provide player-centric training and competitive environments that nurtures growth in all components of the game. This will be accomplished through:
•    An emphasis on age and developmentally appropriate activities.
•    Training that promotes creativity, technical proficiency, dynamic decision making and a passion for the “beautiful game”.
•    Practice sessions following a curriculum provided by the Directors of Coaching.
•    The use of a professional coaching/training staff to enhance the players’ soccer experience.
•    Complete oversight of individual player development and age group growth by the Directors of Coaching.

Academy teams will be placed in an appropriate level Northeast Florida Youth Soccer League (NFYSL) game rotation in which they will play against other NFYSL teams from around the area.  There is typically a minimum of 10-12 games each season (Fall & Spring).  Traveling to approximately half of the scheduled games is expected. Only Academy Trainers and/or Club Directors of Coaching will be coaching the Academy teams during games.  Attendance to an appropriate level tournament may be considered for some of the Academy teams during each season.

Recreation Uniform Clarification

Members, there has been some confusion regarding which color of jersey to wear for home and away during our recreation games.

Please wear the red jersey if you are listed as the home team on the schedule
and the white if you are listed as the away team.

CCSC Volunteer Policy

Volunteers are the backbone of our club.  As a non profit organization we rely on the help of all the volunteers to make the club successful both on the field and financially.  During the last calendar year our volunteers contributed over $ 100,000 worth of their time to the club.  This donation of time enables us to fund our programs and pay our paid employees without incurring expenses as we raise the funds.  I would like to go over our policy so that parents and coaches have an understanding of what is needed.
